The 45th AlBaraka Symposium, scheduled to be held in Female Campus – University of Prince Mugrin, in Madinah, Saudi Arabia, on (16 – 17 April 2025) – (18 – 19 Shawwal 1446) , will take place under the theme: "Islamic Banking in Fifty Years: Past Achievements and Future Aspirations". The symposium aims to document the historical evolution of this experience, explore its role in advancing the Islamic economy in both thought and application, and assess its contribution to achieving the objectives of Islamic economics and supporting development at all levels over the past five decades. Additionally, it seeks to anticipate the future of Islamic banking in light of contemporary challenges.

Under the auspices and in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz – Prince of Madinah Region, the opening ceremony of the 45th AlBaraka Islamic Economics Symposium was held at the Hall of Master Muhammad Awad bin Laden, University of Prince Mugrin, Madinah – Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on Wednesday, 16 April 2025, corresponding to 17 Shawwal 1446 AH, with the participation of a distinguished group of experts and specialists in the fields of economics, finance, and investment.

AlBaraka Symposium

One of the most important and famous tracks of AlBaraka Forum for Islamic Economy, AlBaraka Symposium which was established in 1981, in an extended process of giving to serve the knowledge structure of the Islamic economy. The well-known businessman Sheikh Saleh Abdullah Kamel (1941-2020), may Allah have mercy on him, founded AlBaraka Symposium, planted its seed, and ensured that it was watered and cared for by himself – for forty years. As one of the most important pioneers of Islamic economics. AlBaraka Symposium for Islamic Economy began its activity as a Shari’ah-based and economic forum, as it represents the cornerstone in the development of Islamic economic work in terms of both the Fiqh and technical aspects. Where certain emerging economic issues, or those with an economic dimension, are presented for discussion, and those issues are reviewed from a legal and technical perspective by a group of renowned senior scholars and jurists at the Islamic and international levels with the participation of experts in the fields finance, business, economics and Islamic finance, The goal of these discussions is to arrive at fatwas and recommendations that enrich Islamic economic work, despite its diverse fields, and offer practical solutions to the problems it faces.
